How to use the Wheel Spinner
Add your options using the input field at the bottom — type a name and press the + button or hit Enter. Remove any option by clicking the × next to it. When your wheel is set up, press Spin! and watch it go. The result appears in the panel above the button when the wheel stops.
You need at least 2 options to spin. Each slice is colour-coded so you can track the result visually as the wheel slows down. Press Spin again for another result — options stay on the wheel until you remove them.
What to use the Wheel Spinner for
A spinning wheel is more satisfying than a plain random picker — the animation builds anticipation and makes the result feel earned. That makes it ideal for any situation where the decision needs a little ceremony:
- →Picking a restaurant— everyone adds their suggestion, the wheel decides. No more "I don't mind, you choose".
- →Choosing who goes first — add player names and spin. Fair for board games, drinking games, or any activity that needs a random start order.
- →Classroom activities — spin to pick a student to answer, assign topics for presentations, or randomize group assignments.
- →Giveaways and contests — add entrant names and spin live in front of your audience. More visual and exciting than a spreadsheet formula.
- →What to watch tonight — add your watchlist options and let fate decide.
Wheel Spinner vs. other random tools
The Wheel Spinner is best when you have a small number of named options (2–10) and want something visual. For a long list of names where you need to pick multiple winners without repeats, use the Name Picker instead. For numeric randomness, the Number Generator is more flexible.
