What makes a password strong?
A strong password has three properties:
- →Length — every extra character multiplies the number of possible combinations. A 16-character password is billions of times harder to crack than an 8-character one.
- →Randomness — human-chosen passwords follow patterns (keyboard walks, dictionary words, birth years). This generator uses cryptographic randomness with no patterns.
- →Uniqueness — using the same password across multiple sites means one breach exposes everything. Use a different password for every account.
Managing your passwords
